So What?

About this time you may be scratching your head and wondering, So what?! So what if they teach Evolution in the public schools? So what if it's presented as a fact? What's the big deal, anyway? You may even find yourself thinking that I'm making a mountain out of a mole hill. I mean, what possible harm could there be in teaching Evolution in our schools?

Before I answer, let me ask you something. If your child came home from school one day and told you that 2 + 2 = 111... what would you do? And if all your arguments and efforts to pursuade 'Little Johnny' that 2+2 = 4 failed, because your precious little offspring stated, emphatically, that he knows his answer to be true because his teacher had told him it was a fact... what would you do? I don't know about you, but I doubt many of us would waste a whole lot of time making an appointment to 'speak' with 'Little Johnny's' teacher! Why? Because we don't want 'Little Johnny' being taught something that simply isn't true.

Now let's suppose 'Little Johhny' comes home and tells you that when he dies he will be coming back as a pogo stick... what would you do? After all, 'Little Johnny's' teacher told him it's a fact! What would you do? I bet you'd be more than a little upset! Why? Because 'Little Johnny's' teacher is teaching religious doctrine as fact.

And what if 'Little Johnny's' teacher made him write a report entitled, 'Hitler... the World's Greatest Humanitarian'... what would you do? At this point I think most of us might fall into the 'raving lunitic' category. Why? Because 'Little Johnny' is being taught something that is blatently false!

So you think my illustrations are a bit extreme and you can't quite see the connection, right? Okay, I'll admit that it's very unlikely that a teacher would make the mistake of teaching that 2 + 2 = 111... after all, math is an exact science. As to the other 2 examples? They may not be as far-fetched as they appear on the surface. I sincerely hope you never have to deal with a teacher who believes that Hitler was anywhere close to being alturistic in nature, though I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Not all beliefs are left outside the classroom door. And I wouldn't count on a teacher never trying to convince our 'Little Johnny's' about the pogo stick thing, either. I withdrew my daughter from public school for a reason very similar to that 2 years ago.

The point I was trying to make with my illustrations, however, is that a lie, no matter to what extreme it's presented, is still a lie... it can never be true... and we don't want our children being taught lies in, or out of, school, do we?

To answer the question, 'So what?' I'll now climb up on my Soapbox and respond.

Our children are being taught a lie and that lie is being presented to them as a fact.

Evolution Science is not only one of the biggest lies of all time, it's also one of the hardest to counteract. The media has not only bought into this lie, they work dilligently to perpetuate it, going so far as to produce 'fictional' programs and present them as 'factual documentaries' in it's support. And don't underestimate the power the movie industry has in convincing people that there was a 'Land Before Time' or that the creatures displayed in 'Jurassic Park', or it's sequel, were hatched from eggs reportedly millions of years old. Now don't go flying off the handle. I have nothing against movie makers, in general, or these two movies, in particular. As a matter of fact I liked these movies, finding them to be above average as far as fictional entertainment goes. What bothers me is that most people didn't preceive them as being wholly works of fiction. Now, whether that says something about the maturity level of our society, or about the acceptance of Evolution as fact, I'll let you decide.

If I told you your children were being taught the dictates of Hitler in class would you be concerned? Probably not. After all his violent acts of inhumanity are a part of history and we should encourage our children to learn from the mistakes of the past. But if your children were to be taught those very same dictates by Hitler, himself, would that concern you? I certainly hope so!

In his book 'Mein Kampf' Hitler wrote, "Give me a child when he is two and he's mine for life." Some of our children enter pre-school about that age, don't they? And they tend to believe what they learn from those they love and respect, wouldn't you agree? They're like empty vessels waiting for us to fill them with knowledge. That's a pretty awesome responsibility, if you ask me. At that tender age the potential for harm is just as great as it is for good. Hitler knew this. As staunch believers in Evolution the communist party in China ordered that Evolution be taught to their children, to the exclusion of all else, during their first two years of school. Stalin was such a close friend of Darwin's he owned an autographed copy of his book, 'Origin of the Species'. You see, Hitler, Stallin and the members of the communist party in China all recognized that an early indoctrination into Evolution would undermine a child's belief in God. (to be continued....)

One final question: Why is it that you, as parents, are willing to tolerate the false, religiously-biased, Hitler- endorsed, doctrine of Evolution to be taught as a non-secular, fact of science in public schools?
