BUFFALO FAMILY
At the time of the founder of the family's death, Joseph Peter DiCarlo, who had come from New York City, prohibition was just getting started. From 1922-1974 Stefano Maggadino had rackets all over northern New York and into Canada. He was apart of the original ruling members of the the National Crime Syndicate. With Carlo Gambino, he brought in "Zips" from sicily illegally via Canada. Maggadino was succeeded by Salvatore Pieri in 1984. Sal pled guilty to illegal gambling charges on November 20, 1978. Then Joseph Todaro took over spreading the operations of the family as far as Florida, having his son as underboss. Todaro has been labeled a friend to president Clinton and his wife. At present day, as many as 45 made members are too be within the Buffalo family.
