One thing we all should be doing is actively recruiting others to join "PRO" firearm, PRO Freedom organizations. I've noticed that some conservative-minded (pro-freedom) people are hesistant to join the NRA. I guess this is because the Left Liberal Media has done a darn good job of demonizing the NRA, because the NRA is a very effective voice for patriotic Americans. I maintain that if somebody is going to join only one organization - it should be the NRA. NO OTHER organization has the CLOUT, the Politicians' attention, and the media's attention like the NRA. Anyway, when I come across somebody like this - once I recognize their 'problem / issue' with the NRA and can't convince them that they have been swayed by the media, I suggest that they join one of the OTHER very good groups out there fighting for FREEDOM.
Provide these links to your friends, and let them learn all about these various 'mainstream' organizations. Oh - and tell them that they don't have to own a firearm to belong to ANY of these groups ... they just have to want to ensure that they will always have the right to do so.

JPFO : Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership - they REMEMBER what can and will happen, if WE let it.

... and for those who don't want to get 'wrapped up' in the firearms issue (however avoidable THAT is ...), I suggest that they join the LEAA - Law Enforcement Alliance of America.
LEAA : Law Enforcement Alliance of America - concerned law enforcement officers and citizens who absolutely believe in and defend the rights of citizens to own firearms for their protection.
