Married unknown woman and had son Hugh. (3) Sir Hugh le Despencer, Justiciar of England, born 1223. Died August 4th, 1265 at battle of Evesham. Son of Hugh and an unknown woman. Married Aline Basset and had son Hugh and daughter Eleanors (who was born about 1250 and who married Sir Hugh de Courtenay) and Joan (who was born about 1255 and who married Thomas de Furnival). (4) Hugh le Despencer, Earl of Winchester, born March 1st, 1260. Died October 27th, 1326 -- executed. Son of Sir Hugh and Aline. Married Isabella Beauchamp and had son Hugh and daughter Isabella (she was born about 1290, and married John Hastings). (5) Lord Hugh le Despencer, "the younger"; born about 1300. Died November 24th, 1326 -- executed. Son of Hugh and Isabella. Married Eleanor de Clare and had son Edward. Hugh was the gay lover of King Edward II. (6) Edward le Despencer, died September 30th, 1342. Son of Hugh and Eleanor. Married Anne de Ferrers of Groby and had son Edward. (7) Lord Edward le Despencer, born March 24th, 1335. Died November 11th, 1375. Son of Edward and Anne. Married Elizabeth Burghesh and had daughter Anne. (8) Anne le Despencer, born about 1375. Daughter of Edward and Elizabeth. Married Hugh Hastings (her third cousin).
