About Pretty Carm
Carmen Marie McGill was born October 29, 1969 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She is the author of three short stories and over 60 poems which she began
writing at the age of six. In her writing, Carmen highlights both the struggles
of black people as well as their accomplishments. She uses her writing as a means
of bringing to life the harsh realities that people of African descent face. It is her hope
that her writing will helo heal the wounds of the people of African descent and inspire them to press on.
