175 Years of Existence

(August 10, 1988)

On August 10, 1988 the National Institute of Chile celebrated 175 years of existence and to commemorate such a special date an official ceremony was held at Santiago's Municipal Theater, exact same location where the Institute first opened its doors during the early years.

On this day, a flower arrangement was given to the Principal of that year, Ms. Olga Vivanco Parada for her dedication and hard work. Also, the school was honored with the sale of its first stamp, the design was the result of an internal competition opened to all the students from within the school.

On another hand, the selection of two designs from other students led to to the print of commemorative stickers that also were placed on sale for this special occasion.
