The following is the gloss that United Together uses for "A Whole New World." The column on the left is the song as it is sung in English. The column on the right is the choir's translation of the song in ASL. Since ASL does not have a written form, what is written is merely the English word for the sign that we would sign. ASL is not broken English, as it may appear below. ASL has it's own grammar and we have tried to keep the song as close to ASL grammar as possible. Thus, the English word order of the translation may not make much sense to a hearing person, but the signs make perfect sense to a Deaf person!
