The Road to the White House Ran Through Eureka In 1980


After being a star in the Republican Party for years, Reagan was in line for the ultimate prize, the Presidency.  He did not forget where he came from, however.  As the election of 1980 drew near, Reagan held a campaign rally in the Reagan Physical Education Center on October 17.

Roughly 3,000 students and community members turned out to give enthusiastic support to Eureka College's favorite son.
