My mother was the last of six children. Her date of birth is April 12, 1954, which is
exactly a week before my birthday. She attended the same school that
my brother and I went to as an elementary school. Back then the school was from
1st through 12th grade. She grew up on a farm about two miles from where we lived when I was young. She lived in the same house
until she married my father. She always has the greatest stories about her adventures
with my aunts and uncles.
My dad was born in his grandfather's house somewhere in Kentucky on August 28, 1950. He
grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. He moved to Crawford County (where I'm from) when he was in the fifth
grade. He didn't meet my mother until he came back from Vietnam. He was a marine, which he thinks made him tough. We all know
he's really a softie.
I, April Leigh Fraze, was the first of their two children. I came into the world with a flurry of excitement. A tornado hit the trailor my parents were living in just down the road from the church they were married in. After surveying the damage my mother went into labor. I was born at 12:32 AM on April 5, 1974.
For three and a half years I was an only child. I was well loved and always the center of attention. I have to say it was a good life. However, my parents, having a lot of love to give, decided to extend our family. My brother, Perry JAmes Fraze, was born October 8, 1977. Perry and I had a wonderful time as kids. We grew up on 75 acres of wooded property where we spent long days scampering through the forest.
I would like to tell you a little more about my family so please look at my pages devoted to my brother and I and my extended family. Here's a short summary of what I've told you so far:
