And on the Asteroids compialtion.
Super Duo
is :
Jenny Jenkins,
Jenn Kliese,
&
Kelly Coyle.
They play ukeleles, violins, pianos, cellos and more.
They are very original and very talented.
They have some songs that are a bit,
well, racy...I can't think of a word.
Hardcore...grrrl...has meaning?
Punk rock indie style.
SUPER DUO DO IT!
"SuperDuo is Jenn, Jenny and Kelly from Olympia, WA. They've been a band for almost a year now, but they've only played in Olympia, Anacortes, and Bellingham. They have a knack for doing more live performances than actually practising, and usually their shows are pretty fun and goofy--no set list, they forget their words and laugh a lot, tell weird stories, etc. I assume you heard them from their tape (and possibly a live show?). We only made 100 copies of the tape and ran out. We haven't had time to make more. They have 40 or more unrecorded songs, and we were going to release a new SuperDuo CD through Yoyo and my own label, but right now it's on hold because they're going through band therapy. They have no plans to go on a tour right now, and they've only played one show this year. I will be releasing a compilation CD called "Olympia Talent Show" around late September, and it will feature DSM-5 (a pre-SuperDuo new wave band with Jenny on vocals and Kelly on Bass), Metal Machine Muzak (Jenn on MIDI), the Minuets (Jenn with Khaela Maricich), as well as other local performers. Hopefully SuperDuo will be up for recording a song for the CD as well. Right now, Jenny is finishing up a "low-fi, sci-fi" musical called "Love is Stupid." Kelly is going on a Butoh tour. Jenn wants to buy a 4-track." -Phan You might mention Jenny's recording on Green Things "Think about the order..." and Superduo on Green Means Go "Postage" [from Love is Stupid] You could mention Jenny's other videos like "Three Spoons" by Heend [and they have a website] and "T minus 10" by Tall Toad... both of which were used on "Dance O' Dance"... Also on Dance O' Dance were; "out the window" by Jenn Kleise from Green Things, "Geek" from the tape, and more soon... justin barnabas wright |
