Sarah if you're out there come over quick, and bring your *hocus pocus* kit, cause I'm sick!!

Sarah is a friend of mine who used to work as a nurse, (she's still a nurse but doesn't actively work as one in a hospital per se) who has just graduated from an acupuncture course. All year she practiced on her husband Michael and on my partner Scott. Headaches, sore arms, sore backs, sinusitis etc etc, little needles poking out of their extremeties like little space stations. Ugh! It made my skin creep and crawl to watch it.

Last week I finally gave in. She bought a laser acupuncture (?) device, so I submitted myself to a dose of hocus pocus for a splitting headache. Hmmmm... I know I felt better, all of a sudden the pain just vanished. But I don't want to believe it. I still believe part of the *healing* effect was psychosomatic, but how do I explain away the feeling of *wellness* I experienced? I've seen it work on Scott, and on Michael, but I honestly had trouble believing it.

Well if you are reading, zoom over dear because I fear I will expire before daybreak if my the illness invading my body doesn't let up.

Made up my ceramics class today, sat staring at a greenware plate for 1/2 an hour trying to work out what to do with it. I'm trying to capture on a plate, mug or bowl each person I know to give as a Christmas gift. It is turning out to be more difficult than I anticipated.

My dad dropped by today. A not entirely usual thing for him to do. So I was surprised (in a good way) to see him, he brought with some moulded plastic cat food bowls in the shape of sleeping cats. VCute! Pity the flat was a mess, I had just climbed out of bed, hair everywhere, sleepy and not entirely all there. However it was a pleasure to see him, if even just for a moment.

From now until Sunday week I'm working seven days a week, all day and most evenings - ye gads! For a uni student who stays home and veges out all day everyday with one babysitting job a week it's a big change to be juggling four jobs! Lucky two are seasonal, one intermittent and the other permanent from now on.

I just finished my rounds of the webring diaries, and found Laurel's entry about how we find partners who we can live with, whose habits suit yours and complement each other, to be a mirror of my own experience. I too live in a messy, ill-attended environment that suits me and my partner perfectly, and I wouldn't change a thing.
