On April 26th 2002, after talking with the Creator re: various stuff, and phoning a friend in TN, I drove about 500km to Mt Toolbrunup in the Stirling Ranges with my Dad and youngest sister Sharon. We left about 0800hrs from my townhouse about 10min from the centre of Perth CBD, and stopped for awhile in Armadale to look at our old house (demolished in May 2002). I had a week off from work and was determined to do something worthwhile with the time. This was my second climb of Mt Toolbrunup, the first being with my younger brothers Seth and Peter in August 2000.Mt Toolbrunup is 1052m and is the third highest I have been on, the others being bluff knoll(1073m) and a mountain in USA which was about 1940m high (5826ft). We arrived at Mt Toolbrunup at around 1400 to 1500 hrs. There was thick cloud surrounding the summit, which remained there throughout our climb. Also light rain. The climb down was tough for my Dad (who is now almost 60), and me. For me especially because of my knees. It was a race against time to get to the bottom before it got dark, but we made it with about 20 to 30min to spare. Then another 5hr drive home.
At the end of the day, a challenging but satisfying, memorable day.
Some photos below, (lighting wasnt too good so they are rather dark...);

Just below the summit, starting on the way down, trying to beat the sunset (which we couldn't see much of because of the thick white cloud; Don't let the sun go down on you. Take a long hike with the chosen few.(Similiar concept to Hebrews 12:1-2)
