On 10th August 2000 I drove myself and my two youngest brothers about 500km to the Stirling Ranges to climb a 1052m Mt Toolbrunup.
(the highest in the Stirling Ranges is Bluff Knoll at 1073m, which includes a 300m cliff face.) Credit to Seth for this COOL idea as he wanted some photos to take back to Indonesia.

It took about 5hrs of driving to get there (although we went a bit south towards the Porongorups) and a little less on the way back, which means I did about 9-10 hours of driving that day.
--I only had 3 hours sleep the night before, which probably explains why staying awake was quite a challenge on the way back even with the CD player going, lots of coca-cola, and my brothers argueing with me... *LOL* :-)!--
We left home about 6.15am and got back about 2000hrs that night I think. It took us about 3hrs of climbing to get up and down Mt Toolbrunup, if you are quite fit and run you could get up there in under an hour maybe. There is one section near the top which involves some significant scrambling.
We also were going to go visit Bluff Knoll and/or Mt Trio but we ran out of time, and were pretty tired and just took a few distant photos instead.
Seth did a great job taking the photos (and paid for the petrol!). Peter came up with some zany photo ideas, but he doesnt want to be on the 'net on my website, so they arent accessible here.
I had to be a bit careful with my right knee, especially on the way down, had to put my weight on the other leg all the way to avoid pain...
There are some more panoramic type photos from 'the Mt Toolbrunup expedition' here.
