Personal Bests for everyone except Jonathon Phillips.
Support for this years run was nothing short of brilliant, and tribute should be paid to the efforts of Dave,Nathan and Bernadette, who organised the flour arrows to try and reduce incidences of people losing the trail at tricky points. Daves usual race briefing at the start, also got the run started as it should. Then there was the emergency list, and mementos organised by Bernadette, both firsts in the history of 6 inch. In addition Jonathon provided extra Munda Biddi maps to a few people at the start, who did not already have one.
On the day the fantastic four; Trent,Kate, Julie, and last minute addition Sal, played key roles, ably assisted by family and friends of the runners.
With the larger field this year, this was crucial to a safer, more enjoyable and mostly problem free run. A few navigational glitches as usual were experienced by runners, as is expected in this challenging run, but the excellent efforts of those helping the run go well, should not be under-estimated in reducing these occurences,encouraging sufficient hydration (not as big an issue this year with the cooler weather but still important), keeping track of runners, and so on. These efforts deserve to be remembered and applauded.
A big thank you to everyone who played a part. The success of the day is thanks to these people in a big way as well as those who ran.

Many first-time 6 inch runners struggle with the navigational aspects of this race, and even some who have run it more than once make navigational errors, its tricky finding those yellow triangles sometimes, and with all the fork tracks can be a bit like a choose-your-own-adventure book at times...As a result sometimes people who would have run quicker, don't purely due to navigational errors. GPS can help a lot if you know how to use it well. The recommended Munda Biddi map can also prove to be very handy for runners and support people.
Its a tough race, and if you are injured, or sick, get your hydration glycogen intake wrong, or get very lost this can force you into a DNF easily. Sometyimes the course proves to be just too much of a challenge. Even though it is only a few km more than a marathon, the elevation changes and navigational challenges, and also terrain challenges, make it similiar to running a 50km on flat or longer!
So 29 runners have successfully completed the 6-inch challenge so far.
Multiple successful completions;
4 times; Dave Kennedy, Nathan Fawkes
3 times; Jonathon Phillips
2 times; Mark Bullard, Victor Lendzionowski, Craig Berg.
