It went from North Dandalup to Dwellingup-about 45km, mostly following the Munda Biddi trail.

Drinks/fluid replacement related information
Drinks related;
In 2008; there was a drinks person at 22km (scarp Rd),
35km (Scarp Rd cnr Grey Rd), and maybe at Whittakers campsite (about 7km-9km).
best plan is to leave a 2L bottle of water and/or other drinks/gels
with this drinks person at the start of the race.
***Remember that you must supply your own drinks as none
are supplied by other runners or people organising the run,***
especially since this is not really a formal event yet,
more of an unofficial race/well organized large training run which will probably become an official event soon...
In 2006;
there were plans for two drink stops.
The first was about 22km into the race, near Turners Hill at the same point as in 2005,
with an additional drinks stop at 35km designed especially for slower runners (i.e. over 5 hours)...
Dave posted; -Water carrying container- i.e. Hydration pack (Camelbak or get a cheap Outer Limits one for $20 these carry 1.5L)
or go the old bottle holder or possibly a belt though I think 1.5L + would be
ideal to make it between stations comfortably. In 2005 it was Gary,in 2006 Trent also did an excellent job of transporting drinks,
in 2007 ???, in 2008 Kate and Julie will be transporting drinks in separate cars. More drinks info; Water: This will NEED to be carried by yourself.
Outer Limits hydration packs are available from as little as $20 for 1.5L packs (see camping stores).
However a refill station at approx 22K mark. (if you have given the designated person your drinks at the start)
Ideally bring a 2L bottle filled with preferred beverage.
On top of what is drunk during the first 22K, 1.5L should be adequate to see you through to the finish.
There is NO additional water stops.Recon showed that Oakley Dam is most unsuitable for rehydration though there is
a pit toilet here if you can find it about 30metres off the track.
(Only water available is that in the dam and stream - if still running) I Recommend that you fill your packs before coming to the start.C

Race Logistics; Munda Biddi Maps,Emergency plan etc,
SUMMARY OF RACE LOGISTICS BE AT THE START AT 0415 AM Sharp Sunday 20th December 2009 FOR A SHORT BRIEFING FOLLOWED BY THE RACE START @ 0430.
Directions on how to get from Perth to North Dandalup.
Drinks can be put in the drinks car at this time also,
photocopied maps also available from Trailblazer Jon if you dont already have one.
On 15/12/05 Dave posted; If stressed about leaving your car at the start I suggest driving it halfway up the first hill
and leaving it at the Goldmine Hill carpark. There is room for a few cars here.
Then 1K walk to start. Might need your headlight.
Other options include North Dandalup town, or
Dwellingup town (will need to organise a lift to start with other runners.
The best option is to get your support person (family/friends) to drop you at start and then
meet you at the finish in Dwellingup (perhaps after taking a photo where the Munda Biddi crosses Del Park road).Directions to race start: Macro (big picture) directions
Route 1; With the new Forrest highway (Perth to Bunbury route) now operating the quickest route from Perth is now;
-Kwinana freeway south, continue onto new Forrest hwy past Baldivis turnoff,
until you reach exit into Lakes Rd. (just after Fowler Rd) -Take Lakes Rd* all the way to South West Hwy,
(*Lakes Rd becomes South St for last 50-100m after crossing railway line). -Turn right onto South West Hwy, and then immediately left into Del Park Rd. (Service station on corner)...
Route 2; Kwinana freeway travelling south, left into Mundijong Rd, right into South West Highway is a good route from Perth.
Route 3; Another route is to follow South West Highway from Armadale.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its about 60minutes to 90 minutes drive from Perth CBD, with the Lakes Rd off new highway option (route 1)
possibly more like 40-50 minutes.Micro (localised) directions;
1.. Make way to North Dandalup on South West Hwy between Serpentine/Jarrahdale and Pinjarra.
2.. Turn left into Del Park Rd at southern end of North Dandalup just past servo (also on left).
Follow for 1.3K south east before turning left into Whittakers Rd (look for Goldmine Hill sign). Race start is here!Race Hazards: Honky nuts, snakes, hills, dehydration, navigation issues;
Don't get lost- use MundaBiddi Map 2 or run with someone who is good at navigating.
MAPS Mundi Biddi Map 2 about $10 at Dwellingup visitors centre (open 10am to 3pm every day),
most good Bicycle shops in WA or get one through http://www.mundabiddi.org.au We will provide photocopies of MundaBiddi Map 2 free of charge to anyone who needs them at the start. See Trailblazer777 (Jon) for these. Emergency Plan:
-1. Walk to Del Park Rd and wait for traffic.
-2. Bail with Julie at 7k (Whittakers) or Kate at 22K mark or maybe 35k and get lift to finish.
-3. Put your name, number and emergency contact next of kin details on (Bernadettes) dep(designated emergency person) list
so we can send out a search party for you if a major crisis occurs.
DON"T GET LOST
Finish: The Mundi Biddi comes out on Del Park Rd near the railway line within the town of Dwellingup.
The finish is in the park, near the visitors centre and across the road from the pub, on the grassed area in the shade.Support info;
-The race is essentially (and legally) ***a training run*** with friends
(even though we promote it and think of it as a race)
with no major fees or awards. This means it is not an official formal event as of 2008.
Although it probably will become one in future years if the interest keeps growing.
Safety Hazards,Risks, Emergency contact list, etc; Noone is required to be responsible for your duty of care,
other than the requirements of a normal training run with your mates.
Basically you need to understand it is your responsibility,
and the responsibility of your support person (if you have one) to look after your safety.
However since some of us are nice people (maybe) we probably will try and help you out come what may...
even though there is no legal responsibility accepted by any of us. You run at your own risk.
In 2008 one of our runners, Bernadette (a very! experienced trail runner),
has done up an emergency list of runners, with emergency contact phone numbers.
***We recommend you email your name,mobile number and emergency contact person and phone number direct to Bernadette
(or myself jontheroadrunner@rocketmail.com), so that we can put these details on the emergency list.***
Hopefully this list will never be used, but be aware that a few of us
have thought through what we would try and do in the event of a crisis/emergency.
Also in 2008 Bernadette is making some mementos for all finishers,
so she would like to have full names of all who plan to run,
and may seek a small contribution of $5 or so towards expenses there.
There has been talk of t-shirts,sponsors and so on,
so could be that 6-Inch may become a fully recognized formal race event in future years....
-Please time yourself and we will post them here for future runners to access.
-Although there are some helpers generously donating time to make the experience more enjoyable
you are essentially self reliant.If providing your own support (providing your own support driver& vehicle is strongly recommended! but not essential)
the bitumen Road (Del Park Rd) between the start and finish is 24K with runner access at
approx 17K mark (crossing of Del Park Rd by Munda Biddi Trail)
and some points via gravel roads (for example Scarp Rd and North Spur Rd) ...see maps.
Mundi Biddi Map 2 $10 at Dwellingup visitors centre (open 10am to 3pm every day), through http://www.mundabiddi.org.au

2005 Race Preview
Race Preview; The 1ST 45km 6-INCH TRACK MARATHON winds its way up the Mundi Biddi Trail with
the backdrop of an early morning sunrise draped over the Darling Scarp, and the plains below.
Anyone out there up for the challenge NOW is the time to start getting ready for it..
or even just come along to watch and support...Spectators welcome!!!
Corner of Whittaker Rd and Del Park Rd, (near North Dandalup servo on South Western Highway) is the start line,
with the first challenge being the ascent of Goldmine hill.
Finish is at Dwellingup, some beautiful bush to run through...
This race was partly inspired by reading about NSW's infamous 6-FOOT Track Marathon in the Blue Mountains; See; http://www.sixfoot.com/The 2005 6-INCH TRACK MARATHON will be a tough challenge just to finish for all
who are daring enough to take on the challenge.
The race for line honours looks to be between 4 favourites; Cota,Dave, Jason and Warren.
At the moment it looks like 5-time Ironman finisher Suzy will be
the first and only woman in the race, unless a late entry can change that...Some spectators expected at finish and start, but this is mostly a peaceful run on the trails
of the Munda Biddi, the "Path through the forest"...
Come leave the worries of the city behind, for the beautiful trails of the Munda Biddi this weekend,
and a totally exhilarating challenge of an experience! traversing the hills and valleys of the Darling Scarp.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Essentials; 1.camelback/fuel belt are probably the most important things... 2.MundaBiddi Map 2 3.glasses/hat All the best with your 2005 MundaBiddi 6-inch Track Marathon experience, I will try to answer any last minute questions up until Saturday midday at latest.
