Nathan ...... 4hrs 36mins 29secs Ladies Results First: Cherie & Kaye ... 6hrs 10mins [initial holders of the ladies course record] New Longest Course time ............ Jon ............. 7hrs 04mins Bettering the time Jon set in 2005 of 6hrs 25mins Hot, Still and Humid conditions had a lot to do with the slower course time, but finishing is it's own reward! Knowing their limits award Mark limit=32km time=4hrs 15mins Note: Mark was in the race for longer than the winner, but an upset stomach caused him to dehydrate. He also had the chance to climb into a support vehicle at 29km [3hrs 01mins into the race] when he was not yet suffering from dehydration, although he knew he was having a hard time, but choose to test himself by going on.

Drinks/fluid replacement related information
Drinks related;
In 2006;
there are plans for two drink stops.
The first is about 22km into the race, near Turners Hill at the same point as in 2005,
with an additional drinks stop at 34km designed especially for slower runners (i.e. over 5 hours)...
Dave posted; -Water carrying container- i.e. Hydration pack (Camelbak or get a cheap Outer Limits one for $20 these carry 1.5L)
or go the old bottle holder or possibly a belt though I think 1.5L + would be
ideal to make it between stations comfortably. -Gary will be at the start line if you want to leave food or sports drink with him. More drinks info; Water: This will NEED to be carried by yourself.
Outer Limits hydration packs are available from as little as $20 for 1.5L packs (see camping stores).
However Gary has kindly offered to man a refill station at approx 21K mark.
There will be approximately 20L here so if entering late please bring a 2L bottle filled with preferred beverage.
On top of what is drunk during the first 21K, 1.5L should be more than adequate to see you through to the finish.
There is NO additional water stops.Recon showed that Oakley Dam is most unsuitable for rehydration though there is
a pit toilet here if you can find it about 30metres off the track.
(Only water available is that in the dam and stream - if still running) I Recommend that you fill your packs before coming to the start.C

2005 Race Preview
Race Preview; The 1ST 45km 6-INCH TRACK MARATHON winds its way up the Mundi Biddi Trail with
the backdrop of an early morning sunrise draped over the Darling Scarp, and the plains below.
Anyone out there up for the challenge NOW is the time to start getting ready for it..
or even just come along to watch and support...Spectators welcome!!!
Corner of Whittaker Rd and Del Park Rd, (near North Dandalup servo on South Western Highway) is the start line,
with the first challenge being the ascent of Goldmine hill.
Finish is at Dwellingup, some beautiful bush to run through...
This race was partly inspired by reading about NSW's infamous 6-FOOT Track Marathon in the Blue Mountains; See; http://www.sixfoot.com/The 2005 6-INCH TRACK MARATHON will be a tough challenge just to finish for all
who are daring enough to take on the challenge.
The race for line honours looks to be between 4 favourites; Cota,Dave, Jason and Warren.
At the moment it looks like 5-time Ironman finisher Suzy will be
the first and only woman in the race, unless a late entry can change that...Some spectators expected at finish and start, but this is mostly a peaceful run on the trails
of the Munda Biddi, the "Path through the forest"...
Come leave the worries of the city behind, for the beautiful trails of the Munda Biddi this weekend,
and a totally exhilarating challenge of an experience! traversing the hills and valleys of the Darling Scarp.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Essentials; 1.camelback/fuel belt are probably the most important things... 2.MundaBiddi Map 2 3.glasses/hat All the best with your 2005 MundaBiddi 6-inch Track Marathon experience, I will try to answer any last minute questions up until Saturday midday at latest.
