Well here I am again back for season numero XI. Some things never change its just the way it is.
Until I get some regular reps going, I will have to put up with "ORDINARY!" times (i.e. 1500's over 4min50, 3000's over 11min).
Still enjoying racing, but not going to bother racing very often unless I get fit enough to be more competitive, and beat my P.B.'s.
Knees still holding together, but nothing much has changed really.
Been too busy with work to really go after P.B.'s, but hopefully that will change now if I stay settled.

Ankle injury combined with work commitments (but mainly ankle injury) has pretty much ruled me out of most of the season,
however as of February I am finally running again, and there is still time to try and improve on my times last season in February and March,
although its tough when you have an injury interrupted season, and it depends on how my work commitments go...

Last season helped me get decent Bridges, and City to Surf efforts on the board, and enjoy the Freo and Perth Half-Marathons. So it was worthwhile.........
If I can avoid any new injuries, and manage my existing injuries, and work commitments well enough to train enough,
I am hoping to run my first marathon in 2004, and then after that maybe get the ACL operated on.....,and then get the other knee fixed also...
If the ops went well, maybe come back to the track again in 2005/2006 as a racewalker again???
Whatever happens it has been good fun being able to race again at the track....

12/10/03 1500m 5.17.........29/11/03 800m 2.23.........Ankle injury 8/12/03.....Doc says No Running for 4-6 weeks...
***State Championship Race*** 11/02/04 5000m 21min 49....12th of 12
22/02/04 3000m 11.52 and then ....800m 2.30....... 27/2/04 600m 1min.43secs

Not unhappy with my 600m run though it was ok, got under 1.45 which was what I wanted, would have been nice to go under 1.40, but still a satisfying effort here and now, in my first ever race over 600m.
Severe calf soreness 27/2!!! and 22/2, ice, rest from running, and not running in spikes seems to be doing the trick....???

14/03/04 800m 2.23...ok although the last 200 should have been about 4-5 seconds quicker...(600 split 1.45)...
19/03/04 1500m 5.26 ......

Probably shouldnt have run the 1500m this time as I have been sick all week with a bad cough, (and I had a long day with a 0500 start at work that day) but it was the last race of the season, and it was fun just to be part of it, even though I wasn't 100%....ran in normal shoes (heavier than spikes, but more supportive, protective against impact) again to look after my currently troublesome ankle/calf...which seemed to be fine this time. (thanks God!)....splits; 300m: 49secs then 1.25,1.41,1.31 (for the 400's)...
