Australian World Champs 50km trial and 20km events; Melbourne 13th May 2001....
WA's Lyn Ventris won the Women's 20km event in 1hr 39min.
2. Aust. U/16 & U/18 championships in Bendigo; Highlight;Ryan Jesson; bronze medal in U/16 1500mwalk.
Genevra Cross and Michael McCagh also represented WA here.
3. (a)RWCWA's Daniel LOWE [continuing the tradition of WA representation in the Australian Open Men's 20km walk in recent years.

Andrew Duncan who was 17th (1:33:12.0) in the Men's 20km,
and Sara-Jane Cattermole, 11th (51.53.0) in the Womens 10km.
WARWC member, Scott Hollaway, has walked faster than Don Keane's 45 year old 3km walk record, and finished 2nd (12.30) in the U/18 event at the recent Nationals in Perth, March 25-28, 1999.
Clay Foster (14.14) and Nyssa Cobby (15.16) were other WA athletes performing well.
Several RWCWA members competed in these championships...with Gemma Christie, Shana Cobby, Genevra Cross, Stuart Walker, Michael McCagh, and Tristan Hellings the athletes taking medals in the Under 14 events.
