Good afternoon, and welcome to Jenner Park for today's League of Wales match between Barry Town A.F.C.and Caersws. On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to extend greetings to everyone at today's match, but especially to the players, officials and supporters of Caersws. We hope that you enjoy your time in Barry, and that we all see an entertaining match this evening, as is usual in games between our two clubs.
Croeso i Barc Jenner a'r gem bwysig yn y Gynghrair Genedlaethol. Ar ran pawb yn y dref, hoffwn i estyn croeso cynnes i'r chwaraewyr, swyddogion a chefnogwyr ein ymwelwyr heddiw, Clwb Pel-Droed Caersws. Mwynhewch y gem, ac yn cael siwrnai ddiogel adref heno.
Having won the Gilbert League Cup in the past two seasons, we now find ourselves defending the League of Wales Cup in tonight's replayed match.
Both finals have seen us play Bangor City, who won the North Wales qualifying matches. Oddly enough, both games have gone to penalties, having been level 1-1 at the end of normal time.
However, Caersws also have a good relationship with the League Cup, having made it to the first ever final in 1993, where they lost 4-2 on penalties to Afan Lido, and hosting the final in 1996, when Connah's Quay Nomads beat Ebbw Vale.
Give the side a cheer, and hope that we can go on and make it 'Three in a Row'.
If tonight's match is all square after 90 minutes, then extra time, of two 15-minute halves will be played.
If it remains level between the two sides, then the match will go to penalty kicks. Five nominated players of each side will alternately take kicks at the end nominated by the match referee. Should there be a clear winner, then no further kicks will be taken. If, after all five players have taken their kicks, there is no clear winner then further players from both sides will take kicks alternately until there is a clear winner.
For those interested, Barry have won their last 3 spot-kick shoot-outs!
Obviously, this is essentially the same information as in last Saturday's programme against Rhayader.
This coming Saturday we travel to Total Network Solutions for a League of Wales match at Llansantffraid. That is followed by the comparatively short journey down the M4 to Swansea for the FAW Premier Cup match at the Vetch. That game takes place next Tuesday evening (13.10). Both games look set to be great matches, so get there if you can!
The Welsh Cup Second Round takes place on Saturday, 17th October, but, as last year's semi-finalists we have a bye to Round Three, which, for your diaries is on Saturday, 21st November.
We return to League of Wales action again on Saturday, 24th October, when Newtown visit Jenner Park. We are at home again in the FAW Premier Cup on Tuesday, 27th October, when Caernarfon Town return to Jenner Park. The final match of the month is the journey to Bangor City in the League of Wales. That game takes place on Saturday, 31st October.
For more information on travel to away matches, please see the Supporters' Club Travel Notes elsewhere in the programme.
Enjoy tonight's match,
the Yellow Dragon
