George Willig
Mountain climber
When George Willig, a toy maker from Brooklyn, used homemade climbing equipment to scale the World Trade Center on a windy March day in 1977, he expected to be arrested when he reached the top, and he was. Willig was eventuall fined $1.10. He gained some fame on "Wide World of Sports" by climbing mountains such as Widow's Peak.
