WHERE THE PLAYERS TALK

These quotes are taken from the Grant Park Rally in Chicago

The five trophies raised high in the air in Chi-town's Grant Park Celebration

Michael Jordan

"From all the players and all the coaches and all the Bulls organization, what we want to say is that this championship goes out to all the working people here in the city of Chicago that goes to work every single day that bust their butts to make a living, and what we do, we come in two hours out of a day to give you a break and have something to cheer about. And have something to be proud about when you go to another city. So hopefully, come 1998, you guys can go out and celebrate and go back to every city and say we won number six. Hopefully number seven, number eight, number nine, number ten......" Michael Jordan sat back down to the cheers of, "Bring him back! Bring him back!"

Dennis Rodman

"I'll keep this short, and I'll keep it clean. You know, a lot of people have criticized me for all the things I've done and all the things I've said. And the NBA has done a lot of things to me to try to keep me down. But, a lot of things I've said about the Utah people and the people that live in Utah, I apologize for that. But, you know what, there's just so much you can do to kick a man down. But I say the hell with the NBA, I'll be back, baby."

Ron Harper

"I'd like to say thanks to my teammates, the coaching staff, the organization, and the fans of Chicago. And hopefully, they can come back and do it again."

Scottie Pippen

Pip

"I just want to thank you fans for your support this season. I've been here ten long seasons, we've been able to get you all five great championship seasons. We look forward to bringing it back for number six. So let's come on back and get down for our crown."

Steve Kerr: the joke of the day

"A lot of people have been asking me about the shot the other night. When we called time-out with twenty-five seconds to go, we went into the huddle and Phil told Michael, he said, "Michael, I want you to take the last shot."
And Michael said, "You know, Phil, I don't feel real comfortable in these situations. So, maybe we ought to go in another direction."
And then Scottie came in and said, "You know, Phil, Michael said in his commercial that he's been asked to do this twenty-six times and he's failed. So, why don't we go to Steve?"
So I thought to myself, "Well, I guess I have to bail Michael out again. But I've been carrying him all year, so what's one more time?""
