Chyna is a fierce wrestling
force in Degeneration X. She's stood toe-to-toe with the likes of Steve
Austin, The Undertaker, Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, and others (as shown here).
Before she joined DX, she was a woman intent on destroying Marlena, Goldusts'
valet. She also helped Hunter Hearst Helmsley to win the King of the Ring title in 1997, becoming the first Queen of the Ring.But even before all of this, Chyna was Joanie 'Lee' Laurer, a professional bodybuilder/fitness guru. She participated in the Fitness America pageant in 1996, and began wrestling at 'Killer' Kowalski's school in Boston. She's currently a bodyguard for another of Kowalski's students, Hunter Hearst Helmsley. There are rumors that the two are engaged, and since he's the only one in DX who ever lays a hand on Chyna, there just might be some validity to that statement.
Triple H noticed Chyna in the beginning of 1997, as she threw Marlena around like a ragdoll. Since Helmsley had some bad experiences with some of his male managers and female valets, he decided Chyna would be perfect for his needs. So far, she's proven to be everything Triple H has ever asked of her.
