My God is there more! I promised a reprint of the review if I got my hands on a modified Crossbow, SO SHUT UP, READ ON, AND GET OFF MY GOD-DAMNED BACK!!!! Well I modifeid my crossbow above and beyond the realms of sanity, and it is truly a horse of another color...SILVER!!! That's right boys and girls lots and lots of Duct-Tape makes the world go 'round. I not only stretched the spring, straightened the tube and laid on a load of rubber bands, but also made like my bud Spoon and added some "stuff". I created the first ever Triple barrel Crossbow to my knowledge (I'm sure someone had done it more a while ago). However let me simply speak on the single barrel mods. With these simple modifications the Crossbow becomes the ultimate in accuracy and power. Simple as that. No gun aside from the Vortex or Ultimator can outshoot a modified Crossbow, and if modified particularly well, it can outshoot even those. To be exact, the maximum distance observed on mine would be 130ft.
Basically the Crossbow transforms into a snipers dream. Of course it would never shoot 130 ft. in a battle, I don't like to max it out too much, but an average of 90-100 ft. can be expected. If you only modify this wepon of distruction for range, do not raid, and do not stay close where the increased load time will enable rush attacks. Just stay back and pick off the enemy from afar. That's all I can tell you. That and you may want to pack a mantaray or Shotgun modified SS2(see My Guns) for back-up.
HOWEVER, if you are like me and cannot stand the life of a sniper, cowardly as it is, there are alternatives. As I mentioned above, a triple barreled Crossbow is nothing to trifle with. I have always ben one for multi-shot weapons, and I have always been a crazy son of a bitch, so the adition of barrels was inevitable. My friend Spoon (owner of DIE HARD NERF WARIOR HOME PAGE) has made a name for himself and his Crossbow he calls Pheer, I'm not going to write the name in wanna be hacker style cause I'm not that radiculous, with his addition of a SuperMax 1000 taped to the side. I attempted a modification like this with 2 750's (those guns are sweetly simple inside) but I found the trigger system which I craved to link the barrels was completely impractical. To make a long story....not as long, I ended up taping two lock load holsters, one to each side, for firing together, or seperate. My crossbow is now the ultimate weapon by any standards. It's the best weapon I know of, and Mine is better than yours so there.

# 2 The Lock 'N Load ®
No, this is too good to be Nerf.
It's so cool, until you don't want it to suck anymore.
The Lock N' Load (LNL) is a fairly New Nerf gun that was sold with the Gimmick of Cocking like you would Chamber a real Automatic. It has this large yellow thing on top of it with slides back to cock the gun, which makes it very cool, and fun to use. Well not if you want it to be good. You see the gun is also the most powerfull handgun or single shot weapon for that matter (not saying much when I count the Crossbow unmodified). Unsrcrew the top part (pry off the glued springs) and trash the thing and you also have the most compact gun there it, longer than the SM 700 but a lot thinner. Now if you really want power pry out the post in the barrel without damaging the 3 verticle prongs it's attached to, now you have a powerfull hand gun that shoots Larami and Nerf darts, and even harder now. This gun is tiny light quick and powerfull, everythin a Handgun should be.
I used to prefer Larami guns, but recently I have moved to the Lock&Load over the 700, for several reasons. First, it is actually stronger with the corect ammo, and can use more types of ammo than a 700. It is also simply more convenient and quicker to use a cocking system as oposed to 3 pumps. The cocking system also allows for more modification to add power. I also had the alterior motive of putting 2 hand guns on my Crossbow, and these simply fit better. Finally, it just feels better. It is the quintessential hand gun in Nerf. The truth is thisis one of the best Nerf guns ever, maybe it's not the most devastating, but if you want something quick and small for an out door war this should be the first thing you look at.

# 3 The MANTA RAY ®
My flagship, my victory...
Why, because it feels soooo good!
Oh yes, the Manta Ray. The shotgun of the nerf world. With the ability to send up to four shots of deadly foam from this beast with a single twitch of your finger, what won't you hit. Your accuracy ,at first, may not seem a strong point, seeing as its barrels are tilted the slightest bit downward, but that can be easily remedied with minimul effort through a small amount of target practice, or the use of its Four Dart Spread! Also, its power is supurb with all types of good ammo. The Manta Ray's mainly advertised feature is its shield abilities. Many mock this, and call it unreallistic. Well that is simply not true. With only a few small area base wars under your belt, you'll be able to block anything launched your way. Competitors will stop firing at you so as not to waste ammo.
There are 2 reasons why this weapon is on my must have list ,both of them being quite simple. First off, I have become an expert at using the shield feature and can use it well enough that it has become a preventatory measure, because my friends don't even fire at me anymore when the Ray is in front of me. Second, I don't call it the game ender for nothing. As far as ending wars goes, the Manta Ray is number one. With four darts I can raid anyone with less than 5 hit points left and have a 75% chance of dropping him dead in his dwelling.
