Your weapons are what keep you alive, and I'm not in the habit of dying. At least, not liking it.

These are the weapons that I use at this time. They are my tools of self preservation. I use different weapons for different situations, so, while I will have the weapons I feel to be best, not all listed will be great all around. This is because some weapons are needed for special jobs, and are just suited for that.

System of rating: I will give you my ratings for each weapon in a simple, and sensible way. I will first talk of the weapons' strengths weaknesses and special abilities. Then I will explain why each weapon was chosen, and its meaning in the hands of thy deliverer. The last part will be ratings of each weapon in several important fields, and an overall rating. These ratings will have point values of 1-10, with conditions and the occasional actual figure.

# 1 The CROSSBOW

WARNING!! WARNING!! THE FIRST SECTION OF THIS REVIEW MAY MISINFORM AND HIGHLY OFFEND SOME! READ ON AND ALL IS EXPLAINED!!

The weapon that truly tests your Devotion as a Nerfer, and your sanity as a person.

CALL ME YO' MAMA!!!

The Crossbow is a weak bow with a trigger. While one of my favorite Nerf peers loves it, I have not yet used a modified one, and therefore must say that I truey believe it to be a useless weapon. Now, since the modifications to it are suposed to add (I'd say multiply but anything times 0 is still 0) to its power quite a bit, this review may be reprinted with a completely different view any time now, just as soon as I get my hands on a modified one. Until that time I am forced to hold my stance that the Crossbow really sucks if you aren't planning on radically, and totally altering the poor thing. It just has absolutely no power of any sort, and while it is accurate, that does absolutely no god if the ammo cannot reach its target. Also, it is a single shot weapon, adding to its already cumbersome handicap. If the ammo doesn't go anywere, you at least need to have fast enough a fire rate to use up close.

This weapon, unmodified, serves absolutely no use in any kind of war or conflict your sick mind could possibly think up. All that this useless scrap of plastic, named the Crossbow by some sick Nerf designer, is, is a blatenly failed attempt at a sniper's gun. Unless you have a hell of a lot of rubber bands and a damn flexible sense of humor, you should not use this "suicide request" in any Nerf confrontation.
Of course, this an unmodified weapon which I speak of. I don't know, maybe modified it rules, but I do know it still won't be my style, because I'm not the restful kindof Nerf warrior that would require a single shot weapon of that size, no matter the power. It just isn't practical to me.

BUT WAIT...THERE'S MORE!!!
MODIFIED!!!!!!

My God is there more! I promised a reprint of the review if I got my hands on a modified Crossbow, SO SHUT UP, READ ON, AND GET OFF MY GOD-DAMNED BACK!!!! Well I modifeid my crossbow above and beyond the realms of sanity, and it is truly a horse of another color...SILVER!!! That's right boys and girls lots and lots of Duct-Tape makes the world go 'round. I not only stretched the spring, straightened the tube and laid on a load of rubber bands, but also made like my bud Spoon and added some "stuff". I created the first ever Triple barrel Crossbow to my knowledge (I'm sure someone had done it more a while ago). However let me simply speak on the single barrel mods. With these simple modifications the Crossbow becomes the ultimate in accuracy and power. Simple as that. No gun aside from the Vortex or Ultimator can outshoot a modified Crossbow, and if modified particularly well, it can outshoot even those. To be exact, the maximum distance observed on mine would be 130ft.

Basically the Crossbow transforms into a snipers dream. Of course it would never shoot 130 ft. in a battle, I don't like to max it out too much, but an average of 90-100 ft. can be expected. If you only modify this wepon of distruction for range, do not raid, and do not stay close where the increased load time will enable rush attacks. Just stay back and pick off the enemy from afar. That's all I can tell you. That and you may want to pack a mantaray or Shotgun modified SS2(see My Guns) for back-up. HOWEVER, if you are like me and cannot stand the life of a sniper, cowardly as it is, there are alternatives. As I mentioned above, a triple barreled Crossbow is nothing to trifle with. I have always ben one for multi-shot weapons, and I have always been a crazy son of a bitch, so the adition of barrels was inevitable. My friend Spoon (owner of DIE HARD NERF WARIOR HOME PAGE) has made a name for himself and his Crossbow he calls Pheer, I'm not going to write the name in wanna be hacker style cause I'm not that radiculous, with his addition of a SuperMax 1000 taped to the side. I attempted a modification like this with 2 750's (those guns are sweetly simple inside) but I found the trigger system which I craved to link the barrels was completely impractical. To make a long story....not as long, I ended up taping two lock load holsters, one to each side, for firing together, or seperate. My crossbow is now the ultimate weapon by any standards. It's the best weapon I know of, and Mine is better than yours so there.

# 2 The Lock 'N Load ®

No, this is too good to be Nerf.

It's so cool, until you don't want it to suck anymore.

The Lock N' Load (LNL) is a fairly New Nerf gun that was sold with the Gimmick of Cocking like you would Chamber a real Automatic. It has this large yellow thing on top of it with slides back to cock the gun, which makes it very cool, and fun to use. Well not if you want it to be good. You see the gun is also the most powerfull handgun or single shot weapon for that matter (not saying much when I count the Crossbow unmodified). Unsrcrew the top part (pry off the glued springs) and trash the thing and you also have the most compact gun there it, longer than the SM 700 but a lot thinner. Now if you really want power pry out the post in the barrel without damaging the 3 verticle prongs it's attached to, now you have a powerfull hand gun that shoots Larami and Nerf darts, and even harder now. This gun is tiny light quick and powerfull, everythin a Handgun should be.

I used to prefer Larami guns, but recently I have moved to the Lock&Load over the 700, for several reasons. First, it is actually stronger with the corect ammo, and can use more types of ammo than a 700. It is also simply more convenient and quicker to use a cocking system as oposed to 3 pumps. The cocking system also allows for more modification to add power. I also had the alterior motive of putting 2 hand guns on my Crossbow, and these simply fit better. Finally, it just feels better. It is the quintessential hand gun in Nerf. The truth is thisis one of the best Nerf guns ever, maybe it's not the most devastating, but if you want something quick and small for an out door war this should be the first thing you look at.

Lock 'N Load ®

Power: 8
Distance: 8
Accuracy: 8.75
Ammo load: 1
Ammo fired per shot: 1
Ammo used: Larami Darts, Nerf Darts
Special ability: 5
War value: 7
Over All Rating: 7 as primary, 9 as a side-arm

# 3 The MANTA RAY ®

My flagship, my victory...

Why, because it feels soooo good!

Oh yes, the Manta Ray. The shotgun of the nerf world. With the ability to send up to four shots of deadly foam from this beast with a single twitch of your finger, what won't you hit. Your accuracy ,at first, may not seem a strong point, seeing as its barrels are tilted the slightest bit downward, but that can be easily remedied with minimul effort through a small amount of target practice, or the use of its Four Dart Spread! Also, its power is supurb with all types of good ammo. The Manta Ray's mainly advertised feature is its shield abilities. Many mock this, and call it unreallistic. Well that is simply not true. With only a few small area base wars under your belt, you'll be able to block anything launched your way. Competitors will stop firing at you so as not to waste ammo.

There are 2 reasons why this weapon is on my must have list ,both of them being quite simple. First off, I have become an expert at using the shield feature and can use it well enough that it has become a preventatory measure, because my friends don't even fire at me anymore when the Ray is in front of me. Second, I don't call it the game ender for nothing. As far as ending wars goes, the Manta Ray is number one. With four darts I can raid anyone with less than 5 hit points left and have a 75% chance of dropping him dead in his dwelling.

Manta Ray ®

Power: 6
Distance: 6
Accuracy: 5
Ammo load: 4
Ammo fired per shot: 1-4
Ammo used: Any large Nerf dart, Larami darts
Special ability: 8
War value: 5(beginer)/ 7(experienced)
Over All Rating: 7.5; excellent indoors

# 4 The SUPER MAX 2500 ®

You may be the best, but I've got the 2500.

Nerf IS Nothing!!!!!!!!

The choice of the gods. This gun is the all out best overall weapon I have used, to this day. Its power and distance surpass all nerf and are matched by only a few. It has great accuracy, and shoots the darts with great speeds, making them nearly impossible to dodge. Also, it holds eight darts, and with only three quick pumps per shot, an experienced user can spit out darts at rates of up to 1 per 1.5 seconds, probably faster. The only drawback is its tendancy to overheat. When, over a long period of time, the gun is over-pumped excessively at high speeds it begins to squeak. After about 5 games of this mal treatment of the gun its pump handle can become fractured, and the gun will become virtually useless. Don't get all pumped up over that though, the conditions will most likely not occur if used properly, and this beauty is well worth 12 trips to Toys'R'Us for return.

Shear power combined with 8 dart carrying capacity, and auto-rotating barrels (they rotate as you pump) makes the 2500 the all out best weapon there is. If you could only have one weapon this would be it. This weapon has everything you could want, BUY IT NOW!!!! So, in summary, I chose this weapon because it flat out rules. In the hands of a experienced player it will spell the end for any cocky novice.

By the way the Larami Foam weapon division (created the Supermaxx Line) was recently merged with Nerf, so this weapon is now comonly found packaged as the Nerf SuperMaxx 3000.

Super Max 2500 ®

Power: 9
Distance: 9
Accuracy: 8
Ammo load: 8
Ammo fired per shot: 1
Ammo used: Larami darts
Special ability: 7
War Value: 9.75
Over All Rating: 9.5

# 5 The MadHornet ®

It's Semi-Auto, Yet it's actually Semi-Auto.

Something that took that long couldn't posibly suck........then again, THEN AGAIN ONCE MORE

Here's the deal with this weapon. This was the most anticipated Nerf gun ever all around the Nerfing world (don't mock that it exists). It was to be the first Nerf gun ever to use Air pressure and on top of that it was to fire 6 darts SEMI-AUTO, not shoot and cock the clip Semi-Auto like the SawTooth, but keep on shooting Semi Auto. And then it came out. It shot Rip Rockets 10 feet after about 30 pumps. This sent the On-Line Nerf crowd into a very pissed frenzy, and lead to threats of Boy-cotting Nerf (like they cared about a bunch 'O cyber Warriors). This hatred lasted for me untill just recently when I discovered a Mod. If you take the thing apart and tape up all the holes in each of the 6 barrels, and then reassemble it and cram Larami Darts down the barrels (they're really tight fits) the thing ROCKS!!!!! It has relative power (excellent for Nerf, not LArami though) and it can be shot Semi auto.

Before the mod I spit on it, now it's my favorite weapon next to the Ray and the 2500. It's semi-auto abilities make it a rival to even the Ray in Raiding and for out doors (indoors sniping is required and it can't cut that) it has enough power. This item is of course discontinued (as soon as I found out it was good I got the last one at Toys 'R' Us). Well, if you can get your hands on one do it and modify it.

The following ratings are for the Mad Hornet after Modiication, because otherwise it would be a waist of my time.

Mad Hornet ®

Power: 6.5
Distance: 7
Accuracy: 6
Ammo load: 6
Ammo fired per shot: 1
Ammo used: Larami darts (Rip Rockets if you wanna embaras yourself)
Special ability: 8
War value: 7
Over All Rating: 7.5

# 6 The SUPER MAX 700 ®

So small, yet oh-so powerfull.

For guys with no issues about their manhood.

The 700 is a tiny one shot hand gun that fires further than any other handgun I've tried. Even my modified SS 2. The 700 is powerful, shoots darts at extremely high speeds, and is very accurate. Also, it is tiny and easy to carry around. This is where its only problem stems from. It really isn't that big a deal, but the 700's handle is very small and doesn't fill your hand. Fortunately, you become acustomed to it very quickly.

The 700 is good because it can do what it does and it's a handgun. Therefore it has all the lovable qualities of a handgun. It's small, easy to aim, light, and it feels good. All that, and it has extreme power. The first hand gun I would get is this. Heck this is the first single shot gun I would get. No-one will dare to venture into the open with this pointed at them; because it could pick em off a mile away, and the person carrying it most likely is carrying something else due to the 700's carrying ease.

By the way the Larami Foam weapon division (created the Supermaxx Line) was recently merged with Nerf, so this weapon is now comonly found packaged as the Nerf SuperMaxx 750

Super Max 700 ®

Power: 8.5
Distance: 8
Accuracy: 8.75
Ammo load: 1
Ammo fired per shot: 1
Ammo used: Larami darts
Special ability: 5
War value: 6.75
Over All Rating: 7.5

This is all for this section of reviews. However, these are not all the reviews that will be posted. These are merely the weapons that I own and use at this point in time. I will have reviews for every weapon I have ever used or owned, eventually. They will be in organised sections and what not.
