Tonight's game with Stoke had to be called off after a power failure of the local area put out the floodlights with Stoke leading 1-0 at the time! A good crowd of over 3,500 had turned up to witness this AWS Northern Section, second round tie between Oldham and Stoke but they were only able to see 57 minutes of the game before being plunged into darkness. Ben Petty had just given City a 52nd minute lead when a power failure within the locality of Boundary Park meant the lights went out and after fifteen hectic minutes the decision was eventually taken to abandon the game and replay it at a later date. No new date has yet been set but vouchers have been provided and an announcement is expected soon.
