Preeatna Paznakomeetsa! And welcome to my tribute to Sergei Samsonov! Well, my dream has come true! I saw the Bruins finally on November 24th and the day before I saw practice and met most of the B's, including Sergei! Many photos coming soon! What a nice guy! Got my jersey signed, among other things! And the game was awesome! Sergei scored at 7:00 of the 2nd period to make it a 2-1 game on an awesome move...and was named #1 star of the game after the B's beat Nashville 5-2! It couldn't have gotten much better! I read a little article in The Hockey News back in early 1995 about how several Canadian Junior teams were fighting for the right to draft this kid from Russia who was one of the best young prospects many had seen in years. As a fan of Russian hockey, I followed the story with interest. Of course he never went to any of the Junior teams and eventually signed with the Detroit Vipers of the IHL, won the Rookie of the Year Award and a Turner Cup that year, was then drafted 8th overall by the Boston Bruins in the 97 draft, and the rest is history! So I have honestly been following Sergei for many many years! I was thrilled when he was drafted by Boston, as they have been a fave of mine for almost 20 years! I can't be happier with his play, except of course the Ultimate would have been to actually get to see him play finally in person when the B's visited here in Nashville in December 1998(I finally did see them!). But my little girl Samantha(Sami for short-wonder why??!!) made her debut just days before the game! So I missed the game, but I really don't mind so much!
