I tend to be a bit of a bookworm, but along with reading, I also like to write. I mostly write fantasy, with a little science fiction thrown in. I've completed a script for Star Trek: Voyager, scripts for 2 feature films (or maybe a feature film and a movie-of-the-week/TV pilot) and a couple of fantasy novel. There are almost always other projects in the works somewhere, but these are the ones at the front for write now.

I wrote a 50,000 word novel in 30 days - November is National Novel Writer's Month, and the challenge is to write 50,000 words between midnight, Nov. 1 and midnight, Nov. 30. And I did it!!! Now, time for the editing, rewriting, etc. that I haven't allowed myself to do for the last 30 days, but which I know my novel desperately needs.

There are many problems protecting copyrights, etc. when posting writing on the web, so I tend not to post my work. I did have a poem I wrote posted here, "The Man in the Mirror", but it ended up on other sites, without proper attribution. Also, there were suddenly claims that this poem (with one or two word changes) was written by someone else many years ago. I don't often write poetry, but I swear I wrote this one - I remember the night very clearly. I was about 16 or 17, and for some reason I was having trouble sleeping. This is very unusual for me, especially then. I turned on my light, got out a notepad, and starting writing. The poem came out, almost as a whole. Once I had it down, I was able to sleep. I did have to tweak the poem and clean it up over the next few days. So ... I continue to assert that the poem is mine - and I hold the copyright to prove it. But you will no longer find it on my website.

I will however share some Fan Fiction with you. FanFic, by its very nature, is not copyrightable. And it is written to be shared with other fans. Therefore, I feel no concerns about sharing these.

There is some fan fiction written for "The Phoenix" TV series from 1982. Go to my fan site for the star of that show, Judson Scott, to find those stories.

I have also written some fan fiction for the children's girl detective series, "Trixie Belden". These stories may be read at Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow, the home page for my Trixie Belden fanfic.
