Far in the north of Mossflower country, where winter is chiller and summer more passing, an unknown, unnamed river winds leisurely through meadow and forest. Few in Redwall history have seen this river, for no map extends this far north. If you were to follow the river down on it's ceaseless winding journey to the sea, you would round one corner and come suddenly upon the high stone walls and tall towers of a fort, standing guard over the orchards and cultivated fields surrounding it. A thin pier extends into the river, and if, in curiosity, you looked further, you would see several ships moored there. Coming closer you would begin to hear speech and laughter on the light breeze that barely riffles the careless rush of the river. Climb up the bank, and follow the dusty trodden path to the gates - they are tall, dust-covered and wide open. But even as you note that, you look up and see the sentries in the towers, and with them the thickness of the wall. It is dangerous this far north, for many such as Nagru came from the icy wastes.
Just inside the gate you see a map and several notices tacked to the wall of the nearest building. You bend closer to read.
