Growing  Older

I've found this to be very true,
As older I grow.
The more I live in the past,
In those years of long ago.
And from those days long past,
I can hear a sweet refrain
Melancholy though it be,
It had its joys and pain.
I've found as older I grow,
Life has it's hopes and fears,
And those happy smiles we once knew,
Are oft times replaced by tears.
But this I've learned. along life's way,
That sunshine follows rain,
That restful, happy days can bring
Respite from a pain.
Storm clouds can gather so quickly,
Plans can go astray,
But I know as I grow older,
Sunshine follows a rainy day.
Bright mornings can always follow,
A night that's 'ere so dark,
And a rainbow can follow rain,
And shine in a lovely arc.
So as I grow older in years,
I've learned to take what may,
At leas I'm growing older now.
so hip-hip-hip hoo-ray.
