HEART CLEANING |
Today I started heart cleaning, A task long overdue, And just like the rooms of my house My heart was cluttered, too. |
Some bits of old heartaches had gathered Like just that's undisturbed That needed the broom of my mind Or else they'd lie uncurbed |
The weeds of doubt had been growing, Sending deeper their roots, Smothering seeds of compassion, Nipping love's tender shoots. |
But those seeds of compassion With love I can make them grow. And replace those weeds of destruction With love's soft, golden glow. |
And those worries and those heartaches, Borne with some halting tears Today I started heart cleaning, Removing doubts and fears. |
Today my heart can sing a song, And sweeter notes impart. There's music in my soul since I Started cleaning out my heart. |
