Not Made By Hand
The things not made by man's own hand
Are lovelier by far.
A lilac, rose or buttercup
A silver evening star:

Ameadowlark at even-song
A bluebird fair on wing
The redbud and a willow tree
That herald another Spring:

A warming mist at sunrise
A gentle summer rain
A valley bathed in moonlight
The birth of Spring again:

A crocus and a daffodil
Midst greening leaves of grass
And blue filled sky show loveliness
That man cannot surpass.
