Girl Scout Fun Center

Girl Scouts of Genesee Valley Council Inc.
Greater Rochester Area
Western New York State USA

Originally, this was the page of a small Cadette and Senior Girl Scout Group
in rural Wyoming County, New York.

As it happens in life,
the girls grew and graduated and moved on
and Girl Scout Group 3033 has changed over the years.
We are now a group of Brownies, Juniors and Cadette Girl Scouts.

Stop in often for a visit,
I will be adding new treasures for you to discover,
some from the old memories and some from the new.

I am a Green Neck and proud of it!
I have been a Girl Scout Leader for 16 years now
and over the years I have held many different positions.
At the moment,
I am the leader for Girl Scout Group 3033,
and Daisy Girl Scout Group 2098.
Co-Service Unit Manager, Co-Outdoor Program Consultant
Service Unit Finance Chair
Servie Unit and Troop Cookie Chair
Service Unit Deligate, and a council trainer.

Follow the herd in the link area to some of my favorite places to visit in our area.

The original girls from Cadette & Senior Girl Scout Group 3033 may be gone
but the Speckled Frogs will always be a special memory.
One of their favorite songs was:

Five Little Speckled Frogs

Five little speckled frogs
Sitting on a hollow log
Eating the most delicious bugs
Yum Yum
One jumped in the pool
Where it was nice and cool
Now there are four speckled frogs
Ribbit Ribbit

You keep repeating until you have no frogs left.

Visits since September 12, 1998

Western Skillet Rice

1 pound ground beef
1 1/2 cups water
1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
1 cup sharp cheese, shredded
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
3/4 cup uncooked rice
1 cup green peas

Brown meat and drain well.
Add soup mix, water, rice, tomatoes and peas.
Cover and simmer 25 minutes
until rice is tender
Top with shredded cheese before serving.

We lash a tri-pod and suspend a Dutch Oven
over an open fire to cook this.

This is a recipe that we use during our Advanced Outdoor Living Training
formerly known as Level III & IV Camp Training.
So far, we have left the peas out when we've made this.

At the last training, participants suggested the following variations:
Add chopped celery while browning the hamburger.
Add chili seasonings.
Add canned kidney or chili beans.
