CHANGING TIDES
"...welcome to the twenty-fourth century."
-- Torres to Mulder and Scully --
a Star Trek: Voyager and X-Files crossover

By Jane Griffen and Caitlin Rose
Copyright November 1999

SUMMARY: Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, two FBI agents from 1999, mysteriously appear on the holodeck when Tom Paris, Heather Whitney, B'Elanna Torres, and Harry Kim run a holonovel. Assisted by the rest of Voyager's crew, the two agents must try to find a way back to their time -- or remain aboard the USS Voyager permanently. Voyager drops into orbit of the tropical planet Manyarra, a planet with a deadly secret. While two away teams - accompanied by Scully - are scouting the planet, a deadly storm sets in and the away teams lose all possible contact with Voyager. Mulder accompanies Tom and Neelix as they take the Delta Flyer ahead of Voyager to a large space station, and soon learn the secrets of Manyarra. Racing against time, Voyager tries to rescue the away team - before it's too late.

AUTHORS' WARNING: This story contains P/T, hints of J/C, and MSR -- what can we say? We're hopeless romantics.

Authors' Notes:
-- Jane: Well, we started this in February and finished it in October :) It's a very long RR, but it was so much fun to write! We're going to do a sequel, aren't we, Caitlin? *grins* I wanna dedicate this to my 'partner in crime,' Caitlin Rose. Thank you so much, Caity! :::hugs:::

-- Caitlin: For M & S.  You are two of the funniest, kindest, most beautiful - inside and out - women I could ever ope to meet and emulate.  Your friendship is invaluable, and as M says, “work like you don’t need the money, love like you have never been hurt, dance like no one is watching.”  To the One in whom I live and move and have my being: without you I am nothing.  As always, thanks to my beta-readers, Kashy and BrIgEtTe. The largest applause, though, needs to go to my co-author, Jane; she is the best person you could ever hope to spend seven and a half months (!) writing a story with.  It’s been a blast and I hope this is only the beginning!

Disclaimers: Paramount owns the properties and characters of Star Trek: Voyager; Chris Carter, 1013 Productions, and FOX own the properties and characters of The X Files. We are merely borrowing the characters and plots for our own personal usage. In other words: please don't sue!! :) I (Jane Griffen) own the properties of Heather Whitney. We both own the characters of the countless junior officers who appear in this round robin, and the story.

Is that all we need? Anyway, sit back, grab a soft drink, and enjoy the story. Beware: this story is ^long^, which is why we divided it into five different parts in the first place. You've been warned!

Due to the fact that this story is over 400KB, it's split into five separate logs, including an epilogue.

The archivist (Jane) would like to say that she knows she originally posted that she'd have the bios written by her awesome co-writer up by December, and is very sorry. She hasn't forgotten; she's just been procrastinating - she'll get them up by 2/22/00)

LOG 1: Snow on the Sahara

LOG 2: Manyarra

LOG 3: Running Out of Time

LOG 4: Night on the Queen Anne

LOG 5: Epilogue

The sequel, which is currently a WIP, will be up in a couple of months :~)
