Sam & Sarah were spending the long weekend with their Grandma & Grandpa on
the Central Coast of NSW Sarah just loved sitting & looking at the hundreds of different colours on the
colour card swatches "Yes", said Grandpa, "Have you ever thought how dull it would be if our world was all black & white & grey? God certainly colours our world, not just with colour but with all the variety of things we can do everyday." "I've never thought of it like that," said Sam. "Mmmm", said Gran, "tell me, what colour do you think of when you think of God's love?" "Gold", said Sarah straight away....."cause it reminds me of something precious & valuable." "Blue", said Sam "cause it reminds me of the blue sky going up to heaven. What do you think, Grandpa?" "Purple", said Grandpa, "cause it reminds me of the royal colour of Jesus our King." They all turned to look at Grandma. "Well, what colour do YOU think of when you think of God's love?" asked Sam. Gran smiled & said, "Actually, I think of all the colours in the rainbow! Look! I've a special book here." (She ALWAYS had a special book in her bookcase!) The children watched as she took down the beautiful book from the shelf. It had a
bright rainbow cover "Will you read us some of it please?" begged Sarah. Gran smiled. "It's too late now, it's past your bedtime, but I promise that over the next few days we shall read it together. Time to clean your teeth, say your prayers & off to bed!"..........................

their parents had to fly down to Melbourne for a conference. When the children arrived at their grandparents beach
house.... what a transformation met their eyes! Grandpa had been painting the house & everything, inside smelt
of fresh paint. Before they went to bed, Grandpa told Sam that he could help him paint the front fence tomorrow.
that Gran has borrowed
from the local Hardware shop. "I never knew that there were so many different shades of colours in the world,"
the little girl said.
& looked very
new. "I bought it just the other day" she said smiling, "I guess with all the painting going on,
I had colours on my mind. It's called ,'What Colour is Love?'"
