I was surfing the web when I came upon this site I read the list of names and seen the pictures and it brought tears to my eyes when i heard about the shooting on the news i thought it had nothing to do with me but i now realize it does bcause i am a teen and i am also a parent my heart goes out to all who have been hurt in this i pray for the shooters parent and i hope they dont blame themselves may God bless all of you

It's still hard to believe after all this time that something like this could happen in America, despite the turn she's taken in the past several years. I know your community never wanted this sort of recognition; but God has used this horror for some go d, and I know that He has taken care of the children and teacher who's lives were lost. Hi, I just wanted to say that this page is very inspiring and enlightening. I was so shocked when this all took place, and I live clear across the country. I am sitting here, crying my eyes out, wishing that the world would come to peace. I really dont kn w what to say, or how to say anything, this page really had me in tears and although there is nothing I can do, I will pray. The day this tragedy occured, i had just come home from classes at about 5:00 om in the afternoon. the tv was on the news in the lounge area of my dorm. the story flashed acrossed the screen, showing the faces of the students. i collapsed in tears. wh t else could i do? my heart was broken. i too was comsidered an "at-large" teen. i suffer from bi-polar disorder (AKA manic depression). that could have easily have been me. it really doesn't seem to be enough to say that i am sorry for your loss, bu i cannot find the words to truely express my emotions. i want the city of Littleton to know that the nation mourns with you. i have become active in the college organization SAFE CAMPUSES NOW. i hope that in my work and devotion, that the future gener tions will learn to love when things become difficult. all my love and prayers are with the deceased and their families. respectfully, Holly Blanchard University of Georgia Department of Psychology hollylb@arches.uga.edu

We must remember we should not judge anyone. What happened at Columbine was the worst tradgedy that could happen in our lifetime but we can't blame anyone for we are not here to judge. People react differently to abuse, I know a 30 year old who was tease and abused and he is withdrawn to the point where he can not socialize in any way. I was teased and fortunately I was strong enough to overcome it like most of us are who have been teased in the past. We must teach our children not to tease and our sch ols need to teach them the importance of being kind to all. And most of all, we should not judge the poor parents that are suffering beyond our imaginations of all the victims as well as the parents of the boys who performed this terrible act. My heart g es out to them, not knowing as a mother what I would do if this had happened to my son. Most of us do the best we can to raise our children but I'm sure, neither parents had any idea this was about to occur. We can't believe it still so how can we expect their own parents to have had an inclination. I think your website is wonderful and if any student stops teasing others since this has happened, we can only pray that others will too. God Bless all involved.

ABUSE IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR MURDER !!!!!! Although I live on the East Coast - some 2,000 miles away from Littleton, Colorado, I have been utterly devastated by the Columbine High School massacre. Never have I cried so hard and slept so little since the 1985 Kentucky drunk driving bus crash that k lled 27 kids during a church youth group trip to an amusement park. I have family that lives in the Denver metro area. My brother works in Littleton not far from the school. I am the uncle of a niece and nephew at neighboring Douglas County High School. I am jubilant to report they're all ok and safe despite being next do r to "ground zero". My niece graduated from Douglas High on Saturday, May 22nd. The Columbine Massacre has re-opened some old wounds in me of how I was abused in my high school days. I have written to debunk the excuses of abuse that some are using as justification for Eric's and Dylan's murderous rampage through Columbine High Schoo . During my junior high years and the first year of high school, I lived through a hell of physical, emotional, and verbal abuse from fellow students. I admitted to my mom just last week, they're are times of physical abuse she didn't even know about. I was 't popular so I was a loner. I felt I was a "punching bag". I also lived in a dysfunctional family. I even tried to kill myself because I was so disliked. One day, in high school, during lunch, a guy named Kevin walked to my table and invited me to a meeting that night. It was a night I haven't forgotten some 25 years later. It was filled with laughter, joy, and happiness. There was singing, clapping, some ids dancing too. Then there were hilariously funny skits by the leaders. After all was calm, the leaders got to the purpose of the meeting: A Personal Relationship with Jesus Christ. The leaders were from a youth ministry called Young Life - based in Colo ado Springs. Through my last years of high school, I virtually lived with the "club" as it was known on those Wednesday nights. My parents even let me have 50 to 60 crazy and wild YLer's at our house for a couple of hours of fun, fellowship and prayer. I followed Youn Life on summer retreats to Saranac, Windy Gap, and La Vida. I also went on weekend retreats. It was an absolute joy to be involved with Young Life. My association with Young Life gave me a boost in self-confidence and self-esteem. In my Freshmen Year, I was a member of the Homecoming Decoration Committee. For three years, I was a member of the Student Government Association (SGA) in which I was Home oom Rep. I got to travel to other area high schools for County SGA meetings. I sold candy for the Senior Class. I also played in the annual seniors verses the teachers softball game (I forgot who won, though). I went to the Senior Prom with, get this, a d te from our rival high school. With Young Life's help, I graduated June 6th, 1977. Thanks to Kevin, we are now the best of friends. He is the pastor of an inner city Philadelphia, Pa church. I can call him and visit with his family (wife & three teenagers) at any time I want. I even called him at close to midnight the other night and cr ed about this wholly unnecessary tragedy. I needed his pastoral counseling to deal with my tumultuous emotions on this bloody massacre that occurred extremely to close to my brother's family. Today, at 40, I still live with some of those scars of abuse. However, I have a full time job going on 14 years with a Top 10 Corporation. I have earned two college degrees. I have been engaged in politics, protests, volunteer work, etc. Moreover, I HAVE OT KILLED ANYONE over the abuses I suffered (if I did, I wouldn't be writing this). What was done to Eric and Dylan was wrong, plain and simple, period!!!! I find it ludicrous some people are using Eric's and Dylan's abuse as justification for murder. If any of you want to be different, an outcast, a loner, then YOU MUST LEARN TO TAKE RE PONSIBILITY FOR YOURSELF AND ACTIONS. You will be taunted, looked at, sneered at, gossiped at, made fun of, and so on. It's all-wrong but that is teenage human nature. I know first hand because I experienced them. Ask yourself why aren't you liked and do something about it. Talk to your parents, a guidance counselor, a classmate you trust, your pastor, whomever. Also, get involved at school, your church, and your community. Pick a hobby. For me, I like baseball car s - I have over 100,000. I'm a baseball fan too. I like the Baltimore Orioles. I implore you, just don't stand around and pout, feeling sorry for yourself. Finally, I pray the massacre at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999 sounds a clarion call to America's adult population to take our kids violent threats seriously. We adults are the bridges to their future. When will we take the responsibility to pr tect them, nuture them and guide them until they are ready to cross those bridges? I don't hold the Harris and Klebode parents SOLELY responsible for the son's murderous rampage. Eric and Dylan are victims too. Both fell through the cracks of bureaucratic indifference of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. They failed to take ser ously the violent threats of Eric. Yes, Eric and Dylan murdered 13 of their classmates, but law enforcement and societal apathy killed all 15 kids. To America's teenagers, I am so sorry for my fellow adults' failure to stop this awful tragedy. How many more dead teenagers and brokenhearted parents, siblings, friends will the toll climb to stop the killing? PLEASE no more Columbine's, Paducah's, Jones oro's, Springfield's or Pearl's. To America's adults, our country's future is drowning in our children's blood. STOP THE KILLING, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!. NOTE: I have pasted this same testimony in the Denver Post's online newspaper at www.denverpost.com. It has generated a lot of debate over school abuse. We are forgetting the true hero's in all this, they are the 13 innocent people who lost their live's to animal's. Someone who take's a life is not human. We are all suffering because of this tragic event. We have copy-cat's trying to out do what these animal's did in Littleton, I dont think it is funny. Every morning since I heard about it, I have woke up and stared at my 4 month old in tears just trying to think of what I would do if this had happened to us. To the friends and families, you are very strong for dealing with this. Its a great tragedy and it touches real close to home with me. I have a very bad temper and the littlest thing will snap it. Words cannot express how I felt through the horrible tragedy. At the time, I was in Hickory, North Carolina. As I flipped through the channels on my tv, I stopped to see the television broadcasting of the event live. I watched the news for hours, until they told of the fatalities and that the bodies would be removed the following day. I watched the news for ho rs and hours yet afterwords.
It is a shame that these children can do such things. Me, I am terrified of guns. I can't imagine any child doing something like this. It's sad to say that everything will get much worse than this. Others will see and do the same thing! We've got to hildren in the hands of God!
To the family & friends of Littleton, Co., I just want you to know that my heart goes out to you. I just wish I could be there to place flowers on the memorial.

It disgusts me to say the least that people my own age could take someone's life. It is sad that they had to lower themselves to that level and I feel hurt that so many innocent teenagers were killed in this terrible tragedy. I am from Australia and I wis to pass on my deepest sympathies to everyone involved, hurt and the families that were effected by this event. It is terrible and I am sorry that so many young lives were cut short by these terrible people.

I cannot find the words to express what I have been feeling and would like to say. I taught elementary school for seven years and became dissillusioned not with the beautiful children, but with the parents and their apathy and lack of involvement. Pleas tell your children and loved ones every day just how much you love them. My prayer is that somehow, someway this tragedy will touch the world and truly make a positive difference in the world and the way children are treated by society and their familie .

Last week as I sat, stunned, watching the news on television, my heart could not comprehend what was happening. My two teen age children and I have prayed for those who have been wounded both in body and spirit. We also pray for the parents of those tee s who have been killed and the family of the teacher who was killed. My heart also hurts for the parents of the two boys who killed thier teacher and fellow students. How they must greive! The emotional horror they must be experiencing has got to be ov rwhelming. My thoughts and prayers have been with the victums and families of Colcumbine since the very first day. I have cried with each parent, teen and family memember. And prayed that you will be drawn closer to our Lord and Savior, for HE is the light and HE wi l heal you. This happened in Columbine, but it's affected our whole Nation. I pray for the officers that risk their lives that day they have seen more devistation then I am sure they can find words for, yet they must go on, searching for answers as to h w this could have happened. I pray for the ministers that have been working night and day trying to help anyone touched by this tragedy. I pray mostly for the kids whose whole lives now seem to have been turned upside down in this nightmare. One day our tears will stop flowing, but we will never forget. The feeling I get when I think of all the things that have happened in the last few years is undescribable. I feel sick to my stomache to think that there are people out there that just feel so much hate, that they have to kill others (and themselves) to express it.

What has happened to our society, that this kind of thing is happening? There is so much jealousy and rivalry over trivial things. In my school, since hearing about the Columbine incident, I look around at my school mates to see if there is anyone who I feel might react that same way.

And sadly, there are lots. There are many people with so much hate that they are off in their own little world. Someday...it'll be the final straw...and then what?

Feel free to email me with any feelings you may have. I am open for everything as long as you're willing to hear my side too.

I am so shocked at what happened. But it is happening more and more. I would like to send out my sympathy to everybody that this tradgedy has effected. It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it. But there is just one more thing that I would like to say. - Why did those two boys kill of of those people? Because they were rejected and teased. This is what my teacher said- everyone who has ever teased somebody is responsible for the people that died in Littleton Colorado. I started thinking about t at. It's a hard concept to accept.
