I live at and am very proud of Sapphire Weyr!


You walk into the dark weyr, walls covered in brightly colored tapestries. You look around for Star'num, the young bronze rider. The weyr looks rather empty, so you decide to leave. But before you can, you see a note laying on his desk, clearly there for everyone to read.


Hello traveller, as you can see I'm not in now. That is because Keith and I are now taking weyrling classes. He's truely a magnificent creature. He's grown so, and his wings are begining to work. He said he can't wait until we're able to fly all over Pern. I had Jewel paint a picture of him for you to see.



Also, I had the Weyr weaver make me some special riding gear. It should match my love nicly, and it also has fire markings on it, to show that Keith will someday be a fighting dragon, a very mighty dragon.




As for Aura, thte weyr harper, we've become very good friends. Keith likes her too, he tells me she's very good for me. And her green Mellith seems to like me too.

And my mining, a lot has happened since we last talked. I was ranked masterminer, since I was a journeyman by the time Keith was born. Isn't that strange? A dragonrider a Masterminer. Well, none the less, Keith comes first. I love him more than anything on Pern.

Well traveller, I really need to be going now. But do feel free to go look at my underground room. It's coming along nicely. Good day traveller!

You look to the far end of the weyr, at the back cavern. Just as you begin to walk towards it, a noise from from outside catches your attention. You turn to see who it is, and the large young man walks in, his big bronze weyrling close behind. "Hello traveller! What a day, we've been at our lessons for most of it. But I do so love them. So does Keith." he says, smiling at his big dragon. Yes! I do like them! I can't wait until we can fly free in the sky together Star'num! the bronze thinks. You laugh at the weyrling. "So traveller, I see you were going to check out the underground room. I think I'll go with you, it'd be much safer that way. You'll have to stay here love, you're far too big to fit in there. Come traveller, let's go!"
