BUDAPEST - HUNGARY - VIENNA - SALZBURG-AUSTRIA -  FRANKFURT- GERMANY
The next morning we started the drive to the Hungarian border and arrived early afternoon. We stayed in Hungary for two weeks which makes it the longest stop of the entire tour.  The reasons for the long stay in Hungary was, that this was my first return trip since leaving in 1972.  We were also reunited with all of our relatives that still live there. During the two week stay in Hungary we saw the Royal Palace on Castle Hill, the  Liberation Monument, the inner city Parish Church, the Vigado Concert Hall in Pest,  the Chain Bridge and Margaret Island, a very popular with place for  both the tourists and the locals.  We also visited Lake Balaton the largest lake in Hungary, which is a very popular resort and  camping spot.  In certain parts of the lake you can go out as far a mile and it is only waist deep.
If you are planning a trip to Hungary in the future, I strongly recommend visiting the Chain Bridge at night, when it is all lit up. This way you can also experience the night life of Budapest for which it is very well known.  Most of the major restaurants also feature Gypsy entertainment during dinner.
After we finished our Hungarian tour we took a brief Austrian tour.  During the trip through Austria we stopped in both  Vienna and Salzburg. In Vienna we saw the Opera House and St. Stephen's Cathedral. In Salzburg we saw the home of the Mozart family,  Residence-Square with Belfry-Tower and   St. Michael’s Church, Mozart Monument and the Getreidegasse the narrowest and the oldest street in Salzburg.
After our two day stay in Austria we left for Germany arriving in Frankfurt very late in the afternoon. Once we arrived in Frankfurt we quickly disposed of the van and went to our hotel. We had three days left prior to our flight home.  During the stay in Frankfurt we saw the Old Bridge House, the Fountain at Liebfrauenberg, the Romer, the Opera House, the Wertheim House and the Eschenheimer. After we finished our tour of Frankfurt we caught our flight home to Los Angeles.
