Miriam working in typing.
Start in Teva.
Then, World Institute.
They actually had the gall to hire her a week before they were about to fold.
Seems they lost their financial backing.
Then she went to work at Joint.
It's really called that.
It's where your money goes when you drop it in the UJA pushka.
Not to be confused with the JNF pushka, which goes for trees or something, and not to be confused with the Yeshiva pushke, which goes to educate my kids.
This is the pushka that provides certain services in Israel, starting off with giving my wife a living. She worked there for a while, and after our third child was born, she stopped.
You remember this child - he was the one born on Yom Kippur.
Look back to the second installment of this series, about the Religious-Secular Proflict, to find out about him.
They got to know me around there too.
I used to drop by.
I think I used to occasionally translate things, but most often, I would just visit Miriam.
