WHO ART IN
HEAVEN!
ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
The first mass in Foleyet was said in a lumber camp in
November 1915. The sermon was dictated by Reverend Father L. Seguin and
assisted by Reverend Father O. Dufrain.
The first Roman Catholic church was built by R. Riopelle
in 1917. The first missionary stationed here was Reverend Father O. Paquette.
All cemetary grounds were donated by the Eastern Lands Company.
The first convent was built in 1916, and burned down March
18, 1935. In 1936, they rebuilt the church. Reverend Father G. Lampron remodelled
both the convent and the church. Both still exist, the church has had some
remodelling done to it in the past years, and the convent is now owned by
a family.
In the present day, the masses are now done by Father Lucien
Bouillon and Father Gerald Chalifoux. The services are performed at 11am
on the first, second, and fourth Sunday of the month, whereas, on the third
Sunday of the month it is at 7pm.

ANGLICAN CHURCH
The Anglican church was built by Mr. Thomas Fraser. The
first Minister was Reverend Downer. Cannon Prewer was the missionary to
the regions natives.
The present Minister is Bruce Roberts who resides in Chapleau,
Ontario. The services are provided every Sunday at 2 pm.
