Official Statement concerning the status                            of Germania Inferior at present Caius Cornelius Puteanus Praefectus Sodalitatis Egressi Germaniae Inferioris Europaeque Occidentalis omnibus salutem! As already mentionned on the home page, Germania Inferior is still a part of Gallia at the moment. Some time ago, a discussion on our provincial list resulted in organising a poll under all cives concerning the future of unitarian Gaul. This was done under the authority of Propraetor Ianus Querius Armoricus Lutetio. The result was that our cives desired the separation of Gallia in 2 new provinciae. I insert this page in reaction to a message of Consul Flavius Vedius Germanicus in which he ask not to use the term 'newly to be created provincia' for our region. As I hold the authority of Praefectus of the Sodalitas Egressus for the regions specified above, being appointed by our honoured Senator Marcus Minucius Audens, I proposed to call the region not 'provincia' as long as the Senatus has not officialised it. Germania Inferior shall be the working area of the Praefectus of the Sodalitas Egressus and all the cives of Gallia Borealis, the name of our region as incorporated in provincia Gallia. This will however change nothing to the content, the activities or the texts on the website. All newly edited text will not have the mention 'provincia' in it, but will still indicate our region as 'Germania Inferior'. This simply and only in order to be politically correct. I stress that any information on this website is at the disposition of whoever will become responsible within Germania Inferior as a governor or within Gallia Borealis as a legatus and the cives of the concerned region for whom this site is developped.
