Praise and the Holy Spirit

Among other questions Ive
been asked why I dont believe in the Holy Spirit, why I
dont believe in miracles, and why we dont praise in our
churches. Baptists believe in the Holy Spirit, miracles and
praise quite adamantly...we also believe in being filled
with the Holy Spirit and that this filling happens upon
salvation. Total surrender to the leading of the Holy
Spirit is a different matter, one which happens gradually
in the Christian's heart as he grows closer to God. To me
people who go around talking about how filled they are seem
very arrogant...from my experience I know that very often
they do not wish to seem arrogant and are very nice people,
but they come across as quite proud of how filled they
are...as if they had a hand in it.

Another concern we see is people's attitudes about the third
Person of the Godhead. I've seen the Holy Spirit called
"the ghost with the most".
This is not showing God the respect He is due. It is
rather like calling God "the big guy upstairs" or "the old
man". God is not our peer that we should feel free to talk
about Him flippantly. God has chosen to make us His
children and He is our Father, our friend in time of need.
Nevertheless we ought to speak about Him with the utmost
respect. Let's not forget that the Holy Ghost is GOD just
as the Father and Son are God....all One...the Great Elohim.
This is also why I object to the use of the term "it" when
describing the Holy Spirit. He is a Person and ought to be
referred to as such.
