Personal Stuff

I'm a married (32 years to the only love of my life, Betty) empty-nester (our son has graduated from college (JMU) and is a computer professional; our daughter also graduated from JMU (BA) and Tulane (MPH, has a great job as a public health educator/administrator and is married to a great guy; our only remaining "child" is our 7 year old yellow Labrador Retriever named Taffy). I'm a therapist/counselor by profession, and my recreational interests are computers, video making and editing, oil painting (landscapes) and magic. Betty is a teacher.

By way of background, I am originally from Rhode Island (Pawtucket), graduated from Brown University (majoring in psychology) in 1965, spent 4 1/2 years in the Navy (Submarines), and then started my family in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area. I have been here ever since, getting two more advanced degrees along the way (Virginia Commonwealth University, MSW in '73 and Ph.D. in '84), and now I am one of the partners in Coastal Counseling Center (an outpatient treatment facility serving a wide range of clients with a wide range of life problems).

This is me, and my wife Betty, my son Chris, and my daughter Laura.

Below, is Betty (sort of sleeping) with Taffy, and Taffy alone.
