Tres Leche Cake

This is my all time favorite desert. I've never made it myself. Actually I discovered it at Churrascos' Restaurant here in Houston and have been on a mission ever since to find a recipe. Now I have two. An easy version and a more complicated one. You try them and let me know which is better, ok? *G* Oh..and If you follow the link..keep me in mind if you are buying gifts..hehehehe

The Simple Version

1 box of white cake mix with pudding
2-3 cans of sweetened condensed milk
2-3 cans of milk
1 package of dream whip topping mix

Make the white cake and let it cool completely.

Run a knife around the edges to separate the cake from the pan.
Then use a wood skewer to poke holes in the cake.

Next mix together the condensed milk and milk
(start with 2 cans each).
Pour milk mixture over the cake.
You may have to do this a little at a time,
(depending on how fast the cake absorbs the milk).

Next cover the cake with plastic wrap and let it sit in the
fridge for several days to soak up the milk completely
(maybe even adding more milk mixture later).

Last of all make up the dream whip and spread it over
the top of the cake. Put back into the fridge until chilled.

Sorry Guys...I cannt find the other version right now. It is one of those "from stratch" versions that will test anyone's ability in the kitchen. I will find it and post it soon. In the mean time, if you have your own recipe and are willing to share, please email me.
