I'm a single mom raising two wonderful sons. I've been on the internet since Jan. 96. Things have changed these past few years. I enjoy TRAVEL, Music, good conversations, being outside, gardening, reading... (the list goes on and on). I am now 40 years old and I'm not that thrilled about it. However, I did give myself the best present this year.... I quit smoking! It's been 8 months and counting. I am an Aquarian . (I'm impressed I still remember this HTML stuff.)
I live in Houston, TX. I've been here most of my life. I was born in Waco, TX ... which makes me 100% TEXAN!.... and proud to be! At age 21 I rebelled against Big City Life and tried my luck in East Texas for about 4 years. I actually lived on an old homestead without indoor plumbing and raised dairy goats for one year. The timing was terrible for me (I was way too young to be stuck on a farm in the middle of nowhere) and could not make enuff money to support myself in a small town.....so I headed back to the Big City.
In 1985 I bought the house I grew up in. It may be old (about 50 years) and it is small by today's standards....but it is HOME....and my all-time favorite place in the world. UPDATE: This year I gutted the house down to the studs and completely remodeled. What a project! It's beautiful and even more wonderful. I'll give more details later.
For the past 10 years, I've worked for Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. , an international insurance broker. I am an account manager in the risk management department. Sound's impressive, huh? Well, it is a great job, eventhough I may gripe about it at times.
My favorite kinds of music are blues and classic rock. Stevie Ray Vaughn , Eric Clapton , and Fleetwood Mac , Phil Collins , and Super Tramp to name a few, are some of my favorites. I am also enjoying the newer stuff, like Hootie and the Blowfish , and Tracy Chapman , Jewel, and many others. Recently I've learned to appreciate Country Music. Hey! What can I say? Traveling is something I plan to do more of. My favorite place (so far) is St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands . (I love white beaches with clear blue water.) I found the coolest little island off the coast of Mexico which I'm not announcing the name of, but will be happy to show you some "pics"
Coming soon: links to the green desert and rock formations of Sedona, AZ. I just took a helicopter ride and WOW!!! I'm planning to take the kiddos as soon as school lets out in June.
