Could there be a more perfect time of the year for a Springer to be born than in the Spring? Amy was born in April and came to live with her family and their two-year old female Springer Becky (Amy's older half-sister) in June. They chose Aminta Mischief as her registered name and she was into mischief most of the time. She was an incredible puppy: clever and friendly and fun-loving. She always had to be carrying something in her mouth; mostly sticks, or toys, but she loved to carry things home from walks as well. One day she insisted on dragging home a large orange road cone. Amy thought this was a wonderful toy. She'd drag it around, and knock it over on it's side and bark into the large hole on one end and then run around to the other end where the little hole was and stop and listen. Then she'd run back to the side with the large hole and bark again. She began to stick her head farther and farther into the road cone to bark, and one day she flipped the cone up and wore it as a hat. Well, her family thought that was extremely funny and their laughter just made Amy want to do that little trick again. Becky would just look at her as if she was nuts, but Amy loved to be the centre of attention. So, every day she'd stick her head into the road cone and lift it up and run around wearing it on her head. She'd bump into the tree and the road cone would fall off, but she'd stick her head back in again and off she'd go. Amy was the funniest dog they've ever had. Her life was short, but packed with fun, and they loved her dearly.
