Freckles

Freckles was born March 27, 1985 and got her name due to all of the "freckles" on her legs and tummy. She was liver brown and white and the runt of her litter.  Although Freckles was never a showdog, she was loved more than words can say.  She enjoyed roaming the family farm, swimming, catching gophers and mice, accompanying Merven while he did his chores, and playing with Karen and Steven.  She had numerous puppies throughout the years, and she is (we assume) survived by Brownie, Cookie, Mushy, Molly, Daisy, Blackie, and Bob. Freckles became less active in her later years but no less loving.  In her last four months, Freckles made a new friend in Lady, a one-year-old German Shepard that came to live with the Stepkos.  They refused to sleep seperately, and Lady liked to have her tummy rubbed with the top of Freckles' head. Freckles died in her sleep January 19, 1998 just short of reaching her 14th bithday.  She will be greatly missed, especially by Karen.
