Missy
Missy is a beautiful, and very lucky, liver and white ESS. She was rescued from a puppy mill in April, 1996. She was the only puppy of a litter of ten to survive a flood at the puppy mill. She was kept in a cage that was very dirty. Nobody gave her enough to eat or got her any veterinary care. She was sent to the Midwest Animal Shelter with three of eight puppies from her last litter when she was around four years old because of another flood at the "kennels". Four of the other puppies had frozen to death. Missy had heartworm and an infected uterus. Her hair was orange from malnutrition and one of her fangs was broken and digging into her gums. From the shelter, Missy went to a foster home, where she was nursed back to health. Her broken tooth was removed and she was given lots of love and care. When Missy was feeling better, she went to live with her new family in Ontario. She is still wary of new people, but she is enjoying her new home and is learning how to trust people again. These days, Missy enjoys playing with her new brother George and taking it easy in her new and improved home.
