CHINESE CRESTED DOG

One of the rarest of breeds. Average size, racy, rather narrow; skin "hot to touch," hairless but pigmented; not a "toy." Easy to house and keep clean. Alertness and keen hearing sense make it an excellent watchdog. It has never enjoyed even a fair measure of popularity.

HEAD -SKULL rather narrow and a trifle domed. MUZZLE pointed and tightlipped. CHEEKS clean, bite level. EARS large, carried erect and inclined outward. EYES dark; expression sharp.

BODY - Racy, rather narrow. BACK short, backline rounded. FORELEGS and HIND LEGS straight. FEET rather long. NAILS pink or flesh colored.

TAIL - Fairly long and carried gaily. Tufted at maturity.

COAT - An almost total absence of coat except for a silky textured topknot on head and (at maturity) a tuft on end of tail.

COLORS - Skin pigmented blue, slate blue, or purplish blue with pink spots on sides of the face, underbody, lower forelegs and hind legs.

SIZE - Height, Average 16" at shoulder; Weight, 20-25 lbs.
