Laurie's Message
As friends and family of ours suffer with lupus, cancer, multiple sclerosis, and other various illnesses, I struggle to understand as I look heavenward and ask, "Why, Dear Lord?" Even though I have been away from "The County" for over a year now, you have always been in my heart, my thoughts, and prayers. I miss picking up the phone at the Department of Corrections and hearing, "Correct me, baby!" You were always a joy to talk to, and no matter how bad my day was going, a call from you would definitely improve it. Your up-beat attitude always amazed me, and your infectious laughter still rings in my ears. E-mail made it easier for us to keep in contact, but it just isn't the same as hearing your voice. I wish there was a way I could help you physically overcome this terrible time in your life and take away your pain, but I can only leave it in God's hands and try to understand and accept His plan for you. However, I wanted you to know that I am here for you emotionally and spiritually, Wendygirl. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers. I consider you to be one of the dearest rainbows in my life, and I hope that you will reach out to me for anything you need that I can provide.

I would do it just for you. And share with you its beauty on the days you're feeling blue. If I could build a mountain, You could call your very own A place to find serenity A place to be alone. If I could take your troubles, I would toss them in the sea But all these things I'm finding are impossible for me. I cannot build a mountain or catch a rainbow fair But let me be what I know best ~ A friend that's always there. Author Unknown
