"Fabian"

(Puppy that followed us to Planned Parenthood Vigil - January 20, 2006)

I don't know if it has special symbolism, but here are some pictures of "Fabian." He is the puppy who followed us to our our prayer vigil on Friday morning at Planned Parenthood on Friday. He didn't have a tag so I brought him to Holy Family, hoping that one of our parishioners or school children could identify him. I tentatively called him "Fabian" in honor of that day's saint. One of the pictures shows Gary Samaniego, our parish administrator, holding Fabian. My effort to find the owners proved futile. Finally Todd Aylard (also pictured below) took him to an animal clinic which discovered that he had a chip, enabling them to locate the former owner. Coming up from Tacoma, he picked up Fabian at 7:30 in the evening. He told us his real name is "Bayley" and the current owner is an elderly lady whom he hoped to locate by looking up her name on a cancelled check. As I told our prayer group, when we began the vigils, we set out to rescue children. We don't know if that has happened, but at least we rescued one puppy! May he represent beautiful children and moms whom our prayers (and deeds) can assist.
