Dennis Miller is a comedian, using large amounts of satire. He became most well-known as host for his television talk shows, the latest of which is CNBC's Dennis Miller. Miller combines coarseness with a large vocabulary in a unique style not pandering to the "lowest common denominator".

Miller was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on November 3, 1953. He graduated from Point Park College in Pittsburgh with a degree in journalism, but soon gave up the idea of a reporter's life. Upon trying his hand as an amatuer stand-up comic, he decided to try it as a professional. He toured local clubs, and gradually spread out to include well-known clubs in New York and Los Angeles. In 1980, he became a writer of humorous segments for a local Pittsburgh television show called PM Magazine, and hosted a weekend show called Punchline.

By the mid 1980's he had landed a spot on the network comedy show Saturday Night Live, a launching pad for many future comedy stars. In 1992, he started his own short-lived talk show, The Dennis Miller Show. In 1993, HBO signed him for the Dennis Miller Live show, for which he has won two emmys.

Miller has also been cast in a number of films, usually in dramatic roles, including 1994'sDisclosure, 1995's The Net, and 1996's Murder at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He even tried a couple of years as a commentator on Monday Night Football.

Miller married Ali Espley in 1988. They have two sons, Holden and Marlon.
